SSC CGL Syllabus For Tier III :
Tier III examination is going to be of descriptive type and will be offline. You will be given tasks of writing essay, precis, applications, official letters both in Hindi and English and you will have to qualify it with good grades. The exam will be of 100 marks and time allotted will be 60 minutes and for PWD candidates it will be of 80 minutes.
SSC CGL Syllabus For Tier IV:
Data Entry Skill Test (DEST):
If you are applying for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax), then it is mandatory for you to have a typing speed of 8000 words per hour.
The “Data Entry Speed Test” Skill Test will be conducted for a passage of about 2000 key depressions for a duration of 15 minutes. This test will be of qualifying nature. Computers for the test will be provided by the Commission at the Centre/ venue notified for the purpose. The Skill Test will be held at the Commission’s Regional/ Sub-Regional Offices or at other Centres as may be decided by the commission. Detailed instructions regarding Skill Test will be sent by the Regional/ Sub Regional Offices of the Commission to eligible candidates declared qualified for appearing in Skill Test.
Computer Proficiency Test (CPT):
The Commission will hold Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), comprising of three modules, and you must have good knowldege about all these modules. So, let us discuss what all these three modules are

(ii) Spread Sheet
(iii) Generation of Slides
for the posts of Assistant Section Officer of CSS, Assistant Section Officer (MEA), Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Assistant (GSI) in the Ministry of Mines. The CPT will be conducted in the manner decided by the Commission for the purpose. No exemption from Computer Proficiency Test is allowed for any category of PWD candidates, means that there will be no reserved list for any category in this tier, and it will be of qualifying nature.

Exam Pattern of Tier IV:
Tier IV is going to be of qualifying nature, here no leniency will be given to any category candidate, if you qualify it according to the standards set then you will be selected. In this part your Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) will be taken, where your typing speed will be tested and the required criteria is 8000 key depressions per hour.
Next your Computer Proficiency Test will be conducted, which is divided into three modules, that is, Word Processing, Spread Sheet and Generation of Slides, for the posts of Assistant Section Officer of CSS, Assistant Section Officer (MEA), Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Assistant (GSI) in the Ministry of Mines. You should have good knowledge of all these.
Last part is going to be document verification. All the candidates who will qualify all these tiers will be called for Document Verification. Those who fail to do so will not be considered for any post at the time of final selection. Candidates will have to submit copies of various documents required like Matriculation Certificate (10th marksheet), educational qualification, caste certificate, relevant document, if any relaxation is taken, etc.
Candidates will be required to produce all documents in original for verification at the time of document verification. Information about the required documents will be provided while calling candidates for the purpose.
Key Points to know about SSC CGL Tier II Papers:
- Questions in Paper I will be of Class 10th level, that of Paper II will be of 10+2 level and Paper III and IV will consist of Graduation Level.
- Any representation to answer keys of the examination will be scrutinized with the help of experts, wherever necessary, and evaluation in that case will be done with modified answer key. The decision of the Commission in this regard will be final and no further representation will be entertained.
