Lets discuss about the eligibility criteria if you are dreaming of joining CRPF as a Constable.

Age Limit

Candidates applying must be between 18 to 23 years of age at the time of applying.

Relaxation:

  • SC/ST Candidates – 5 years
  • OBC Candidates – 3 years

Educational Qualification

Constable is an entry level post within CRPF and for this a candidate must be matric pass.

Physical and Medical Standards

  • Height : 170 cms (minimum)
  • Chest : 80 – 85 cms (breathe in and breathe out)
  • Weight : It should be in proportion to the height of the candidate.

Selection Procedure

Selection of the candidate is a step by step process and the steps are as follows:

  1. Physical Fitness Test
  2. Written Examination
  3. Medical Examination
  4. Interview/ Document Verification
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

This is the first stage of selection procedure. In this stage physical standard of the candidates are checked (like their height, weight, chest size- before expansion and after expansion). All this is done by the authorities who are deployed for this recruitment drive. After this they are also made to undergo the physical fitness test (PFT), it is as follows:

  • Running – 1.6 Kms (within the time period of 6 minutes)
  • Long Jump – 11 feet
  • Hight Jump – 3.5 feet

Maximum three cahnces are given to a candidate to qualify the stages of long jump and high jump in a satisfactory manner.

CRPF Pay Scale Per Month

Written Examination

All the candidates who qualify physical fitness test are called for written examination. This part can be divided into two parts –

  • Part A – It consists of objective type questions.
  • Part B – It consists of descriptive questions.

  • Total Questions – 50 (Part A – 25 questions & Part B – 25 questions)
  • Total Marks – 50 marks
  • Total Time Allotted – 90 minutes
  • Topics for examination – Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Science, General Knowledge
Medical Examination

All the candidates who will be able to qualify the written examination, will be called for medical examination and they will be checked thoroughly with each and every term related to medical.

Interview/ Document Verification

All those candidates who will be able to make it at their medical test will be called for the final round i.e., interview. You will be interviewed by a panel of highly experienced people followed by your document verification.

After the candidates are done with all their rounds, a final merit list will be made, according to which if you are selected you will be provided with joining letters.
