AFCAT Eligibility Criteria 2023-2024 Age Limit, Education Qualification & Height : Indian Air Force is conducting Air Force Common Entrance Test (AFCAT) 2023 for Group A Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. AFCAT Eligibility Criteria 2023-2024

This exam is a great opportunity to be a part of the elite force of the Indian Air Force and serve in an adventurous field for both male and female candidates. To crack AFCAT 2023, candidates must be well versed with the syllabus, exam pattern, eligibility criteria and selection process of AFCAT 2023.

Nationality Candidate must be a citizen of India

Age Range

The age limit branch wise is shown in the table below:

Branches Age Range
Flight Arm 20 to 24 years
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch 20 to 26 years
Marital Status
  • At the time of commencement of the course, if the applicant is below 25 years of age, he/she should be unmarried.
  • Divorced, Widow/Widows below 25 years of age are also not eligible for this exam.
  • Married candidates above 25 years of age are eligible to apply during their training period, but they will neither be given accommodation nor will they be able to live with family.
Educational Qualification For Flying Branch: 12th with minimum 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics and minimum four years degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized University with Bachelor’s/Integrated Post Graduate qualification or Section A and of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India B. Examination of Associate Membership or Graduate Membership Examination of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers with minimum 60% marks on or before actual study.

For Ground Duty (Technical) Branch: Passed 12th and Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent OR Passed Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institute of Engineers (India), OR At least 60% marks from a recognized University Aeronautical Society of India with % marks or equivalent.

Meteorology :- 12th with minimum in any science stream / Mathematics / Statistics / Geography / Computer Application / Environmental Science / Applied Physics / Oceanography / Meteorology / Agricultural Meteorology / Ecology and Environment / Geophysics / Environmental Biology And must have passed the postgraduate degree with 50% marks in aggregate of all the papers.
