For Civilian Candidates:
| Nationality | Only men can apply for the post and they must be citizen of India. |

For Ex- Service Officers:
Government of India has also taken the initiative to Ex-Service Officers to join Territorial Army, and become a pat of that. But there are some conditions for Ex- Service Officers too, as that for Civilian Candidates, read each and every thing carefully:

| Age Limit | You should be 18 to 42 years of age |
| Educational Qualification | A candidate applying for Territorial Army must make sure that he is holding a graduate degree from any recognised university |
| Physical Standards | A candidate applying for Territorial Army must make sure that he is physically fit in all respects. |
| Employment | The candidate must be gainfully employed. |
Note: Serving member of the Regular Army/ Navy/ Air Force/ Police/ GREF/ Para Military and like forces are not eligible.
